Community Hero Award

Recognising individuals within the jewellery industry who have made significant and selfless contributions to their communities. This award honours those who go above and beyond to support and uplift their local communities through acts of philanthropy, volunteerism, and community service. Nominees should be individuals who meet any or all of the below:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to giving back to their community, actively engaging in charitable initiatives and projects.
  • Have made a tangible and positive impact on the lives of community members through their actions and efforts.
  • Volunteer their time and resources to support local causes, organisations, and events.

Customer Service Excellence award

Innovator of the Year Award

Recognising an individual within the jewellery industry who has introduced the most creative and ground breaking idea, product, or solution. This award celebrates those who drive the industry forward with their ingenuity and vision. Nominees should be individuals who meet any or all of the below:

  • Developed an innovative product or service that has significantly impacted the market, setting new trends and standards.
  • Implemented creative solutions to industry challenges, demonstrating original thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Pioneered new technologies, techniques, or methodologies that enhance the efficiency, quality, or appeal of jewellery products.
  • Contributed to sustainability and ethical practices through innovative approaches that benefit both the environment and the industry.
  • Shown exceptional creativity in design, resulting in unique and captivating jewellery pieces that resonate with consumers.
  • Actively shared their knowledge and innovations with the broader community, influencing and inspiring peers and colleagues.

Rising Star Award

Acknowledging an early-career individual within the jewellery industry who has shown remarkable growth and potential. This award recognises emerging talents who are making significant strides early in their careers, demonstrating exceptional skills, initiative, and promise. Nominees should be individuals who meet any or all of the below:

  • Made notable contributions to their organisation or the industry through innovative ideas, projects, or solutions.
  • Shown a strong commitment to personal and professional development, continuously seeking opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, taking on responsibilities and inspiring peers despite their early stage in the career.
  • Received positive feedback from colleagues, mentors, and clients for their work ethic, creativity, and impact.
  • Actively participated in industry events, workshops, or initiatives, showing dedication to the broader jewellery community.

MAJOR PRIZE – Leadership Excellence Award

Leadership Excellence: Honouring an individual within the jewellery industry who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and significantly contributed to their organization’s success. This award recognizes those who inspire, motivate, and guide their teams towards achieving outstanding results. Nominees should be individuals who meet any or all of the below:

  • Exhibited visionary leadership, setting clear goals and strategies that drive organisational growth and success.
  • Fostered a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and employee development.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and ethical behaviour, serving as a role model for others within the industry.
  • Successfully managed and led projects, initiatives, or teams, achieving significant milestones and delivering measurable results.
  • Provided mentorship and support to colleagues, helping to nurture the next generation of leaders within the organisation.
  • Shown resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges, guiding their team through difficult times with confidence and effectiveness.
  • Actively contributed to the jewellery industry by participating in industry associations, conferences, or community outreach programs.

This award celebrates those who exemplify outstanding leadership, making a profound impact on their industry and setting the standard for excellence within the jewellery industry

The winner of the Leadership Excellence award will be presented with a trip for one to Hong Kong for the International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the International Jewellery Show, in March 2025, thanks to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council

Prize includes:

  • Return economy flights for one, from Australia to Hong Kong
  • VIP tour at HK International Jewellery Show (HK Convention & Exhibition Centre) and Diamond Show (Asia World Expo)
  • 4 nights accommodation at a designated hotel

With over 40 years of experience in jewellery retail and wholesale, Heidi Plentinger a distinguished expert renowned for her passion, honesty, and loyalty. She has managed businesses in both the UK and Australia, bringing extensive international experience to her roles. An accomplished designer, Heidi Plentinger excels in creating unique pieces for private clients and has built strong trade relationships. Specializing in recruitment, she ensures businesses thrive with top talent. A dynamic leader, she mentors high-performing teams and influences through trust. Heidi’s profound industry knowledge and dedication make her an invaluable asset to the judging panel.

Rami Baron

Rami Baron is a highly respected figure in the jewellery industry with over three decades of experience. He is the President of the Diamond Dealers Club of Australia, CEO of Q Report  and has a significant influence on the international stage through his leadership roles. Rami is known for his expertise in diamonds, gemstones, and fine jewellery, and his commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainability practices. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events and a dedicated advocate for the advancement of the jewellery sector. Rami’s extensive network and deep industry knowledge make him a pivotal figure in the global jewellery community.

Laura Moore

Laura Moore has over 18 years of experience in the jewellery industry and currently serves as Managing Director of the Jewellery Industry Network. With a strong background in industry education, lobbying, and fostering growth, Laura is dedicated to supporting and advancing the jewellery sector across all areas. Her leadership and commitment have been instrumental in building brands that contribute significantly to the industry’s development and success.

Awards Process & Timing:

Nominations open from June 12th – July 5th.

Finalists will be announced Friday 12th July and peer voting open from Friday 12th July.

Winners announced at the Jewellery Industry Fair Soiree – August 17th. 

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Eligibility: The Industry Awards Program (the “Program”) is open to individuals working within the jewellery industry in Australasia. Nominees must have satisfied one or more of the specified points against their nominated category to be eligible. 
  2. Nomination Process: Nominations for the Program must be submitted by individuals or organisations in accordance with the nomination guidelines provided by the Program organisers. Self-nominations are permitted.

  3.  Selection Process: Nominations will be reviewed and evaluated by a panel of judges appointed by the Program organizers. Judges will assess nominees based on their innovation, impact, creativity, and contribution to the jewellery industry.

  4. Award Categories: The Program may include multiple award categories, such as Innovator of the Year, Rising Star, and Community Hero, among others, as determined by the Program organisers.

5. Award Presentation: Winners will be announced and honoured at the Jewellery Industry Fair Soiree organised by the Jewellery Industry Network. Winners may be required to participate in promotional activities related to the Program, including but not limited to interviews, photo shoots, and media appearances.

6. Intellectual Property: By submitting a nomination, nominees grant the Program organizers the right to use their name, likeness, and submitted materials for promotional purposes related to the Program.

7. Confidentiality: All nominations and related materials submitted to the Program will be treated as confidential by the judges and Program organisers. Information provided by nominees may be shared with judges and Program organisers for evaluation purposes only.

8. Disqualification: The Program organisers reserve the right to disqualify any nomination that does not comply with the eligibility criteria or submission guidelines, or that is deemed inappropriate, offensive or against the ethos of the award program.

9. Changes to Terms: The Program organizers reserve the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice, by posting revised terms on the Program website or notifying nominees via email.

10. Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of NSW, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

11. Major Prize: Program organisers will award a major prize thanks to a major sponsor for the evening. The winner of this prize must abide by the terms set out for the prize itself and by the prize sponsor. The major prize is to be awarded to the winner of the Leadership Excellence award. It is not to be redeemed or exchanged for money or any other goods and or services. 

By participating in the Program, nominees agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and any decisions made by the Program organisers.
